Note: I don't really believe in astrology and whatnot, but I find it amusing when I find some coincidental similarities between the traits mentioned in astrology books/articles and the person whose astrological information I'm looking up. Most of what's written here is a more or less summarized version of essays from several sources regarding astrology, and is mostly traits that Tokiya has or astrological information that I find interesting.

Starstone: Opal (Unlike the birthstone that draws energy from one's birth month, the starstone/planet stone draws energy from one's ruling planet, in this case, from Pluto.)

Zodiac: Scorpio

Scorpios are known for having strong will power, tenacity, and courage, although their courage is usually tempered by a good sense of caution. Notice how Tokiya started out as seemingly emotionless and cold, but eventually revealed that on the inside, he's undergoing a lot of emotional stress? This is a common trait amongst Scorpios. As an old saying goes, "still waters run deep".

Due to their strong personality, Scorpios are outspoken and do not feel the need to disguise their opinions. As such, they are prone to be callous and and critical towards people that they dislike. Those they dislike are often victims of caustic remarks and sarcasm, as portrayed by how Tokiya manages to find time to insult his opponents even though they're beating the crap out of him. XD

Scorpios are also prone to being possessive, and this may lead to fits of jealousy...much like how Tokiya (manga) tends to get annoyed when Recca manages to impress Yanagi and how he badgers Recca for a lot of his mistakes, saying stuff like "You're not worthy enough to be Yanagi's ninja", and so on.

Another thing about Scorpios (that we do not see in Tokiya this time, unless you read all the Tokiya-Raiha/Recca/Koganei/blah yaoi fiction that's been spreading around, blech) is that aside from being emotionally passionate, they're also known to be sexually passionate. It is said that when a Scorpio's sexual needs are not met, they tend to become depressed.

Regarding health, Scorpios can recover quickly from illnesses by sheer will power alone, but they are prone to drinking, drug-taking, and smoking (obviously not Tokiya-related, but I thought it was something of interest).

Ruling Planet: Pluto

The planet Pluto is named after the Roman god of the Underworld. "Renewal" and "transformation" are words that are often associated with Pluto. Elimination through sacrifice is a way of life for those who are ruled by Pluto, and through only through this elimination can renewal/transformation occur.

Looking at Tokiya's personality, his association with Pluto is not very obvious, but I think that it can be seen through the fact that he practically eliminated his emotions (apart from his thirst for revenge) in order to become more focused on becoming stronger and finding his sister's murderer.
