Look-a-Likes

Here are some characters whom I think are similar to Tokiya with regard to their physical appearance. Most of their similarities in appearance are pretty much self-explanatory because of the pictures, but I added a few more tidbits regarding the characters in the succeeding paragraphs. XD If you can think of other characters who look like him and would like to have him added to this list, please feel free to contact me. :D

Hikitsu/Ematato Chen (Fushigi Yuugi)

One of the Genbu seishi, Hikitsu has a characteristic eyepatch over his right eye, which conceals the Chinese character that marks him as a seishi. His hair is also brownish-silver, but of a different shade compared to Tokiya's. Another similarity between them apart from appearance would be the fact that Hikitsu's powers involve creating ice snakes and freezing people.

Tomo/Chuin Ruo (Fushigi Yuugi)

Tomo's a Seiryu seishi, and is quite attached to Nakago *cough*. I think Tomo and Tokiya have nothing in common apart from appearance, since Tomo's a homosexual (or bisexual...not too sure here) sadist who enjoys torturing people and cackling like a loon.

Hitokiri Battōsai (Rurōni Kenshin)

Aside from the similarities in appearance, both are swordsmen, and both have a cold exterior (though Tokiya is more prone to making snide comments and insulting other people). I say Hitokiri Battōsai and not Himura Kenshin because for some reason, even though Battōsai and Kenshin are one person, I can't see a lot of similarities between Kenshin and Tokiya. That's probably because Kenshin ended up looking more peaceful and innocent than cold and angsty, plus his hair looked a lot different when he started wearing it in a low ponytail.

Kurama/Minamino Shuuichi (Yu Yu Hakusho)

The similarities between Tokiya and Shūichi brought about some speculations about Flame of Recca being a Yu Yu Hakusho ripoff. They look alike in the sense that their eyes are the same shape, and both have long hair with long sideburns. Both are intellectual and popular with girls in school too. A lot of people were saying that Tokiya seems to be a combination of Hiei (another character from YYH who was more detached, cold, and cruel as compared to his teammates) and Kurama, and a lot of people supported this idea since the Kurama x Hiei pairing was pretty popular.

Yōko Kurama (Yu Yu Hakusho)

Cold, ruthless, intelligent, and powerful, Yōko Kurama is more similar to Tokiya than his human counterpart. Though probably a little more cruel than Tokiya, Yōko Kurama is similar to Tokiya in a sense that if you tick him off, you're going to get your ass kicked to Hell and back...though in Yōko Kurama's case, you might not be able to return from Hell at all.

Kuzuki Kakyō (X/1999)

Kakyō and Tokiya, like the characters I have mentioned above, have more similarities than meets the eye. Both have lost someone they love, in Kakyō's case, Sumeragi Hokuto. Like Mifuyu, Hokuto was murdered, and like Tokiya, Kakyō could do nothing to save her. However, the two characters differ in how they dealt with the situation. Kakyō remained in a comatose state, just waiting for his own death, while Tokiya took up Ensui and vowed to avenge his sister.
